Michael Aspel and his wife read this book in 1984, and was so impressed he said it would do well as a play for televison.
Unfortuantley this did not happen due to franchising at the time.

BIO
As a small child my mother a woman of fairground decent and my father a traveller, would take us to Banstead every year to go hop picking.
This was a working holiday for us but a holiday none the less.
I have written this book for my children and my grandchildren, to pass on so that our history is not lost to them
The reason for writing this book is that I see so many children now using technical equipment and forgetting about play and outdoors recreation.
I want them all to see what fun it was to be one of the luckiest children in the world experiencing the world at its best.
I myself did not learn to write properly until I was 31.
